So i'm trying to configure my media keyboard buttons to work with winamp ( they work with the crappy windows media player at default ).. i downloaded the software for my keyboard from the genuisnet website anyways the software is somehow stupid, it allows me to link each media key on my keyboard to an exe ( or anything else for sure ), so i linked the media player button to winamp.exe, volume buttons are working as intended, but the play/pause, stop, next track and previous track buttons only work with windows media player, so i thought if i find some exe's, each exe does a function ( previous track, next track,play/pause ) i'd link them with the buttons and they'll be functioning as i want... any ideas ? thanks in advance and sorry for writing so long ;D
Controlling winamp through keyboard..
WinAmp have the Options to use multimedia key for playback. You need goto Options>General Preference>Global HotKeys then setup it up according to your needs
"Use Global Keys" as Mr.Linux says.
sadly i can't map my media key's using winamps global hotkey's feature, it just says can't register or just gives an error when it try to map it.. anyways i got an answer on neowin with a link that have a play/pause, stop, next and previous exe's.. which i guess solved my problem ![]()
Winamp does not work with multimedia keyborads?
CAD (WCC) monitors multimedia keyboards for AlbumPlayer and iTunes. CAD could monitor for Winamp too... Something to consider in afuture release.

Ok, I've added multimedia keys for Winamp as an option.
