How to create "rays" effect?

Hi to all

How do I create such "rays" effect using Photoshop? I will appreciate any help/comments from you all. Thanks in advance!

Use the rectangular marquee and create an alternating vertical stripe pattern across a single layer. As in a stripe of one color then the other, so on and so forth. Then go to the filter menu go to the Distort/Polar Coordinates filter and the rays should come from the center when using the "rectangular to polar" setting. As to the ones coming from the corner.... uh.. use a large image and just crop one corner so the rays are coming from a direction?
