Flyakite and nLite? Possible?

Hi everyone. I was wondering if it is possible to integrate FlyakiteOSX 3.5 into the source of a Windows XP installation CD? Can this be done via using nLite or something similar? Is something else needed to do this, if it's even possible?

you could have pm'ed him that.. that way he would have been able to delete them.. and I don't think he did it on purpose..

and back on topic: i think that would not be interesting, since flyakite keeps evolving and keeps getting updates every few months.. not with SP2, that is a standard and never changes..

That is true, however it would be nice to have everything installed just like it was if you ever had to format your drive...

I don't think it's that hard just to install it separately.

Isn't there an option from withing FlyakiteOSX to extract all of the files inside it? Can't you use those to slipstream into a new nLite cd?

Chris himself said that he wouldn't be releasing an update to 3.5 in a very long time. I think It'd be a cool idea, but considering it takes about five minutes to install it, and it would take much longer than that to slipstream it into the install disk, I'd have to say that it wouldn't be worth the time.

one of the problems that i encoter is i dont find a way to unpack flackosx 3.5 to a folder ... so that i can for example take theres shell32 and put in the nlite windows.

sorry my english!

Curious, the older versions used to allow you to extract the files inside--either I'm missing something or it's gone now. I'll talk to flyakite.

Sorry for bumping the old thread, but did anyone get any success with the same?

As SP3 for XP is nearing, I was planning to update my XP installation disk (yeh, I'm not switching to vista anytime soon :P).

I haven't tried it, but maybe you you could use UniExtract to get the files out of the setup...Then you could use nLite and slipstream them. Somebody has to try it outm though. :D

Testet this whole thing....

...and it works for me! Did it with autoit .... by klicking threw the installation.

just a lil bug that cursors where changed back to normal windows at first logon.

Even i think this thing with the taskbar didnt work as well...

did a workaround by just tweaking the registry with autoit after first logon.

cheers

PS.: Excuse my bad english :)

Chris used NSIS to make all versions of Flyakite, and NSIS use the 7zip library to compress data, this means you can unpack it using 7z, but you still can't slipstream whit nLite CD because in the pack there are only resources (icon, setup files ..v..v).

Hope this post usefull
