stupid question, but how do I add these? Of course RK wouldn't let me drag these icons into it. I made a shortcut of My Computer, I dragged it in and it works, but when I click on the icon, My Computer doesn't open up, nothing happens. Help please.
oh also, dont want to start another thread, but is there a way to keep items both on RK and the taskbar when they are minimized? Currently when I minimize to RK, the item is removed from the taskbar.
While for avedesk- I think the principle in this message will be the same. The important thing is the string in the parameters field I think

If by "My Computer", you mean an Explorer link that opens to My Computer when you click on it from the dock, go to C:/Prgram Files/Accessories and drag the Explorer icon there to your dock.

In the Arguments, that's two commas and two colon symbols. Also, you can replace the GUID with any of these common GUIDs (you can trawl through the registry clsid key for more):

Damn, this makes the taskbar useless. I'll just hide it for now. I found a docklet that opens the Start menu, but haven't found one for the system tray. I'm not sure if I can live without the system tray from day to day work. Is there a system tray docklet?The answer to your second question is no.

it is a Toolbar for IE and Explorer for searching and many other features.
one of the feateres is that it shows the windows internal Name of a folder (the numbers manchend above)
With the shortcut of explorer.exe is there any way to open it in one click just as in quick launch in the taskbar?

Dont drag shortcuts into the dock (dock makes shortcuts when you drag them in, but making a double shortcut wont work); instead drag "my computer" itself into the dock. I have done this and it works.
If you need to find 'my computer' (encase you've lost the original icon); open explorer and in the address bar click the down arrow and select desktop in the window- "my computer" will appear, drag into dock (DO NOT make a shortcut first).
There is a way to stop minimising to the dock and instead minimise to the taskbar, but there is currently no way to minimise to both taskbar and dock.
To minimise to taskbar only; right-click on a blank part of the dock and select "settings", click the bahaviour tab, then de-tick "minimise to rk launcher" tick box and close off the options.

When I try this with the "My Computer" icon from the Desktop folder in Explorer, all I ever get is the cursor changing to "Unavailable" when I get to the dock. I could only get My Computer from the Start Menu to work as drag and drop. Interestingly enough, My Documents works from Explorer, but My Network Places, My Computer and the Recycle Bin do not.
Solution:
RK Launcher .41 would not let me drag and drop any windows desktop 'Special' Icons to it (e.g. My Computer, My Bluetooth Places, etc.)
The primary reason I use RK is to get rid of desktop icons, but .40 wasn't responsive enough and .41 didn't allow these specials to be drag-and-dropped. what to do, what to do?
So I opened RK Launcher .40 beta again, Enabled 'My Computer' on my desktop and dragged the icon to the dock. (can you drag 'special' icons to your dock if you use .4 beta?)
then i installed the .41 nightly (build 246) and kept my itemlist.conf
here's what's in my itemlist.conf
