Show files in playlist, but not library

is there a way to do this? like check a box that makes files only show in playlist but not library?

because id like to show just the single mp3 files in library, but keep album files seperated into playlists, but when i add the files to the playlist, it adds it to the library too

any help at all would be greatly appreciated

No. iTunes doesn't do that. In essence, the library is all the files that you have on iTunes. Every playlist is a subgroup of the Library. You can make nested playlists that feature the attributes you want, but the Library will always contain all the files.

You could ask Apple to add such a function, in their customer feedback forums, but I doubt they'd be any help.

Yeh... Library serves as repositery of all your Mp3s, like a source... which you can then separate in playlist for easier access by given criteria.

also... does anyone know if i can make the library categories go like

instead of the other way around?

unfortunately no... . The name of song will come first, only thing you can do is sort them by Artist name.
