Help with magic wand

Ok see that...I want to paint that chick pink and have the bkg black.

I can't seem to get it right. Don't know what setting to use with the wand or something?

Can someone guide me plz..

It takes practice and alot of trial and error but you'll have smooth edges in no time. After you select the image right click and make selection. Choose the selection tool right click the image and select inverse then press the delete key. You might want to do this on a duplicate layer just so you can delete it and start over faster if you have to.

Assuming you're cutting her out of the white part, you can try clicking the magic wand to select the white part and then right clicking it and selecting "similar" which will select any other white area; but this may not work as it may select some of the lighter shades of her skin, such as under her arms. Worth a shot though.

Inevitably, it's always better to use a bigger image, can't you find a lady like that I assume "running from a fire" based on the way her arms are on a free image site like www.sxc.hu ?
