I Am Leaving...

I am writing this thread to say that I am no longer going to create themes for Y'z Dock; rather, I have decided to move my skinning endeavors to the currently more feature-rich ObjectDock. My themes will still be availible for download on my site, but my themes will now be designed exclusively for ObjectDock. If anyone is interested in converting any of my future ObjectDock themes for use with Y'z Dock, I have no problem with this, but I do have 2 requests- 1, please ask permission first and 2, email me the converted theme so I can post it on my site. Thanks for all your support; I hope you will continue to support me in my efforts with ObjectDock.

31 views as of now and not one good bye...well good bye

now since Y'z Dock supports stretching backgrounds I will start skinning, so out with the old in with the new =). The first on my list is a South Park full dock theme which will consist of south park characters as icons and the background will have south park buildings hopefully I will be able to find the buildings.

I greatly look forward to your ObjectDock themes. :)

 Bye  who was he

#3206

he made 4 bg themes for y'z dock and now he is switching to making themes for object dock because it has more features but if I was him I wouldn't rule out y'z dock just yet or any dock because they are all still in beta stages and are getting updated weekly if not sooner than that so pretty soon there isn't going to be much that one dock can do over another.

I haven't ruled out Y'z or Moby; they are great programs that will go far for sure. I picked ObjectDock because it is easier to pick just one app rather than be scattered...plus Jeff is helping me out with the theme development. It just seemed the logical step. No offense to Yamaguhi or Moby, I still use Y'z Dock and they have both written gems applications! Just to clear things up a bit...:)

it looks like from the screens I have seen you can make a bg layer like grass go infront the icons aswell as behind I'm I wrong? and can you do more than tile the bg images in the objectdock?

That is too bad you are not going to be concentrating on Y's anymore, I am currently using your NYC theme, VERY nice B)

about that NYC theme I've noticed that in 0.4 if the dock is too small the NYC background gets cut off and then I opened 0.3.1 and it doesn't get cut off. I don't think this is really a bug I think it is just M.Y. added the stretch feature and it might have interfered with how the bg's worked previously, but I do hope M.Y. gets this fixed cuz even my south park theme gets cut off if the dock isn't large enough.

Deceiver, I have been having the exact same problem in my ObjectDock themes...I have asked Jeff about making the background resizable along with the icons, as was the case in Y'z before v 4. I hope they reconsider this function, because it is inhibiting the creation of some very creative themes! Maybe it can be made into an option that can be turned on and off? We'll see what the future holds...
