Fission in SaFire (Firefox 1.5)

How can I get the Fission progressbar to use graphics as Fusion did?

This is done with Fission in the Eternal Aqua theme, but I can't get it working with regular SaFire...

If it wasn't for Fusion moving the RSS icon the the left of the text (when using Local Install to install it) I'd use that...

please help! :)

Add this to your chrome.css

#urlbar[fission=fusion] > #statusbar-icon > .progress-bar {

background: url(progress.png) !important;

}

Change progress.png to a link to the image you want.

Fission has options. Go into the extensions list and select Fission, then click options. You can point to any image by simply browsing to it. ;)

If it doesn't fit, PM me and I'll help you out (at least if it's before Thursday)

DON'T USE FUSION. It's obsolete. :P

Thanks for the help guys.

Both of your methods work with every other theme but SaFire.

I think there might be som hardcoding in the theme for the Fission settings.

I use SaFire 0.9

Any ideas?

Yes, it is hardcoded. I forgot about that. :P

I modified the progressmeter.css and attached the new one.

Unzip, drop the file into the Safire.jar under the global folder, save changes, then re-install the theme.

I couldn't get around the animated progressmeter showing up by default in the limited time I have this morning. Just change the color or point to a background. Height of the background graphic should be 29px by the way. You can use either of the ones from Eternal Aqua Safire. They are located in the JAR file under the browser folder and are called chunk.gif and chunk.png respectively.

Hope this helps. I'm assuming Bazon is updating his theme or something with major changes for Fx 2 final. ;)

p.s. the background will not touch the left or right ends of the URL bar. There is nothing that can be done about this without modifying the theme heavily (not sure why it was done the way it was in the first place)

Where is the global folder?

Open the Safire.jar file and look for the global folder. It should be in the main folder list within the JAR file.

#376879

Sorry for such ****ish questions, but where can I find the Safire.jar file?

#376884

It's alright.

For (most) of your firefox needs, please see the Firefox Skinning Guide. Safire is located near the top under "common themes"

Please read the rest of the thread for answers if you have further questions or post there if your dilema is new. ;)

hey bzbricks

sorry 4 butting in, but where did you get that FF THeme? does it work with FF 2.0?

#426837

um does fission work properly with firefox 2.0 themes as i seem to be having problems with skinning it so that a picture is tiled across....its happy with just the plain colour but when i give it a picture it misses bits out

Could someone post chunk.gif? The original links to the Eternal Safari deviantart items are gone :(

*Edit: I found chunk.gif in the archive http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/34547894/ after a bunch of downloading random MacOS styles. Hope someone enjoys it. I've attached it here.
