If you want to emulate OSX, you would be better off with FireFox. Not to mention that Internet Explorer is just a very bad program now, to both (real) web developers and users. If you still want to do it, this is called the "throbber". There are many tutorials out there, some more technical than others. A quick search in Google yielded this site which I used before for other tasks. You would need to find or create a bmp image that meets the specifications of the image that is needed. Then you would have to edit the registry (you don't want to mess this part up, it could be fatal to the computer).
