Is there a way to replace the splash screens that come up upon starting MS Word, Excel, etc. on XP with the Mac splash screens? I know those apps are virtually unskinnable. But if so, does anyone have those resources to provide. I noticed on Flyakite's website, on his screenshots section, he has an image of the "About IE" window that says it is for Mac. Just curious. Thanks.
MS Office Splash Screens
I did a quick search in winword.exe and a few of the other office11 files with PE explorer, but I couldn't find the splash. I'll have another look today. It shouldn't be difficult to replace. The only reason the office apps are hard to skin is because the resources are vast and spread out, and not always where you'd expect. I don' t think that just replacing the spash will be particularly tricky.
As for the 'aboutIE' window, just reshack iexplorer.exe and switch the bitmap, making sure the one you use is roughly the same file size.
Maybe it's not exactly inside the exe... in some DLL file maybe.
Hi Guys. This was actually for a long time. Her is the link: http://www.aqua-soft.org/board/showthread....hlight=Splasher
Thanks, but the link to Splasher 3.0 is dead. And i can't find any on Google either. Anyone have that app? Thank you.
@cyanide: what suite are you using? my a/v scan (pc-cillin for vista) came up clean.
shmengie, mine (AVG Antivirus Free) came up infected with a "Trojan horse Dropper.Agent BIC." Not looking good...
-NC
okay, i just booted into xp and scanned with sophos. again, it came up clean. y'all must be gettin' false positives...
It could be false positives, it may not be.
EDIT: My NOD32 told me it was a trojan. I don't know, I wouldn't download yet. . .
trust me there is no virus, i had my mcafee suite scan it for anything possible
anyone got the word splash screen?
my avg is also saying there is a trojan in this .exe - can anyone else post a copy of splasher here?
it's there in the thread that was pointed out earlier; http://www.aqua-soft.org/board/showthread....hlight=Splasher

Guys, I dont think those are real trojans but AVs just think they are, probably because of some dll/exe hooks.
even if i ignore the trojan warnings this file won't run for me anyway, and after a while avg starts to bug me unmercilessly about the virus until i have to delete it. any other copies?
