Don't know if you saw the petition that was doing the rounds recently about getting new firmware on the 'old' iPods, but I was the one responsible for it.

If you've not signed it, then have a look here. I don't think it's going to do any good at all, as Apple have done things like this before and will do it again. But it's worth a go.

Yep, got my update already. Its supossed to improve overall performance and such. Here's a list I found of the stuff it does.
