Volume icon, need help/advice

Ok, this is my volume icon, originally drawed 2 or 3 yers ago for MP3Gain program. I blew some dust from it, repainted and... it still doesn't look like a volume control, can you beleive it! :confused:

So I'm asking an advice... If anybody will be seriously intrested I can drop him source PSD.
