Front Row clone

backRow is just a exercise prototype but the source code and additional infos are available at the backRow homepage.

N.B. : Why did I post this ? Some developers visit the forum, so I want to give some ideas to build a real clone of Front Row.

Yeah, changing the icons would be a great improvement. And releasing a binary would be a lot easier for the user.

A question though: Can you control back row with, for example, your phone? I read you could control it with the MCE remote but does that include support for bluetooth remotes like a phone?

He didn't put the original Front Row icons to avoid Cease & Desist letter from Apple. I'm sure that once this app is released, it'll be very easy to replace them

Just to get in my two cents: it'd great if the font and other images (the selction box, e.g.), mimicked Front Row 1:1. Looks like an incredible app though, and me thinks you shld get some sort of higher degree for your accompanying "dissertation." cheers and thanks.

You don't have to use the original images because I don't know where you can find them in such big sizes, But I'm sure you could find any good, aqua-like icons or maybe someone can make them.

I'm confused WhiteCloud, is BackRow your project? Or are you picking up where left off?

this was built with VS.NET 2005 B2, Sept CTP of WinFX, and the Media Player 10 SDK. remember, this was just a rapid prototype for me to experiment with, so all of this code is throw away.
