BootSkin by Stardock is safest.

from the way he framed his question i thought he wanted to know what each person uses... although he has tagged it as help

Nightcrawler, I'd better add some caution to your suggestion about BootSkin being safest.

Though this app may be 'safest', I don't use it out of the fact that it doesn't work right on mine and makes my comp go into one of those godawful reboot cycles.

However, that's just my experience. And unlike when I tried to manually install one, which wrecked it to the point beyond saving (and having to use the reboot disc), it at least let me boot into safe mode to remove it.

Playing with bootscreens, though necessary as Windows has a really poor excuse for one, is quite dangerous. Be sure you know what you're doing.

If you knew that already, gonzalomoscoso, good for you. If you didn't, well, now you know.

Purely based on personal experience, I say stick with Flyakite's bootscreen (which it does, BTW).

With BootXP you can use almost any image as boot screen. :)
