Safari error plug-in Error * CANT VEIW VIDEOS *

after browsing safari several sites to view videos i encounter a HUGE annoying problem ...

The page “Streaming” has content of MIME type “application/x-mplayer2”, but you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type. A plug-in should be available on this page:

Same Goes for VLC .. I View Any Movies But i get sound ?... whats going on here any alternative applications ?

how do i resolve this issue .. i tried flip4mac.. doesnt run on Intel Macs ? any othere ideas

plug-ins ?.. anything

thanks,

None yet, you're going to have to wait for Flip4Mac to become Universal.

As to VLC, shouldn't have a problem as the Intel build is out. Though remember to turn on the Quartz output in advanced settings and turn off AltiVec optimization.

have you checked if safari is run under ROSETTA? that was my problem (the "MIME" thing with flash). it was after i ran the update for my intel imac to 10.4.5. Then they had the safari update and i guess it forgot to run under rosetta.

if you don no how to run safari under rosetta, go to applications and right click on safari. check the box with "run under rosetta". despite the "intel change = faster" reg-day apps like safari require rosetta to work it, in turn slowing it the f' down. make sure quicktime is also run under rosetta.
