how can I get more visitors to my websites?
web traffic
I have noticed that Robots/Spiders visit my site for search engines Googlebot and Inktomi Slurp.
You could also link your site in your signature in forums. Like this one!
If your site is new, it may take a while for people to notice it.
Make a good site that people will want to visit?
i guess Unbe has a point.. especially the good part..
To be fair I think the "site" part is quite important too. ![]()
as always zaft.. you are completely right ![]()
Create a good reputation about yourself, such as not creating two posts in one thread mentioning how good other people's points are and adding nothing of your own.
Make it unique. Make sure you are targeting a specific group rather than trying to get everybody you can, it never works. Try to get affiliates with site similar to your, you could probably risk direct competitor sites depending on your demographic. Really, nowadays, its a hit a miss. Everybody with about $150 to spare a year can get their own site. It's up to the browser to make up their mind to say if your site is real and dedicated enough. It takes a couple of years for a site to really take off in most cases.
Look how many potential visitors you've missed already by not giving a link!!
www.thelink.cabanova.com is my link.
Yeah. you should think about Unbelievers-point intensly.
Since you are taking this at college I am strongly believing that your web-design teacher sucks.
Also you should try to learn the real thing: XHTML, CSS, PHP, Flash (in that order).
Good start for learning is w3schools.com, also its always very important to keep a good, real editor with you., like Pepper or eclipse. Also I recommend the Webdevloper toolbar for firefox it comes with links ("Tools") to all the important validation sites and the ability to act like a textbrowser ("Disable").
Maybe also get some less ad-intense hosting (funpic?)
Just some suggestions...
i just began this class.
Yeah, it takes awhile for one to get their name out there and for their site to get a lot of hits. I've had mine for not quite a year and I'm just now slowly getting maybe 5-10 unique visits a day which to me is extremely exciting. Once you get brushed up on any of the skills that you'd like to be poficient in try doing something for people without self gain. I personally created some icon sets that I could've just as easily charged for but didn't and I like to think that I have a small fan base. A metaphor I can create for myself is if I were to have a rock concert and there would be about five or six people in the crown cheering, a couple throwing bras and or garbage at me and one trying to run off with my amp and saying that it belongs to them. (If that makes any sense in regards with art.)
So in retrospect to popularity, some people like you, some hate you, and someone always tries to steal your ideas.
I also apologize being as I drifted away from the whole idea of getting more site visitors, I'm feeling inspired today.
i am not a fan of coding. so i want a easy way to do it. i want to advertise various links.
you should hang around a lot more at SEO forum, you'll a lot of stuffs there about increasing traffic than what will you learn here. Most of people here is expertise in desktop customization not SEO
ok I take that for suggestion but where seo is?
Perhaps http://www.seochat.com/? Try searching Google first...-NC
thank you I hope this will help.
my question is why are you making a site? is it to show off your portfolio? cause no one is going to visit your site if there is nothing to see
One thing is key when making a site on the web; "content is king"! If you don't work by that rule,
you're gonna see quite a fall in traffic on your site. Without any interesting content on the site,
there will be many one-time-visitors, but if you update the contents on a regular basis, for
instance with a blog-like feature, people will want to come back to your site in order to check
for new and exciting content!
If it's a portfolio you're planning on making, it might be a good idea to do a database-driven one,
that can be hooked up to an RSS-feed, people will get to see your newest works of art (or whatever)
when they open their nice little browser or other RSS-reader ![]()
Long post this, but I guess it should help you a bit, though it was a bit technical as well...
my favourite SEO forum is http://forums.digitalpoint.com
well the point of mywebsite is to let people know what good website there are on the web such as giving advice .
That's a good addition to a site but I'd never go to a site only to see links that can 'help me'. There are hundreds of better established websites that have more options than you can ever have and why would I go to your website every day to see a static list of links? If you want to give good sites, why not give one site a day and review it blog-style? It'd be hard to review a site every day but anything good isn't built without hard work.
good idea. but there are some changes all ready. so check it out.
umm...the link in your sig doesn't work, at least not for me...
