I was just browsing around the internet and I found this site: ipodlinux It's a group that is working on porting linux to the iPod. This would first of all allow people to get every resource on the ipod and also run tons of programs on it. It's really pretty interesting to see it. It has tons of screenshots and downloads.

The OSS community has been working on a iPod Linux distro since the 1st gen iPods were released. If the device can be hacked/modified then you can bet that someone is working on a Linux port for it.
I can install this on almost every kind of iPod (I install it on people's iPod's at my school if they don't know how to do it (for free)) and it works great. I can watch videos and play gameboy on my mini. and that's just the beggining.
