... most of the junk email is to my work email account. Many years ago (like 8-10) I used my work email addy when I was posting to some newsgroups. Big mistake. And my employer won't change my addy.
That's just Apple's Mail program. I'm on a Mac...

well i've goten a few hundred in about 2 weeks and maybe like 600 in a month

I remember one time, a spammer had my address sending me crap and it was on a loop for like 2 hours sending a duplicate about every 10 seconds (I think). I was pissed. Good thing it was on Hotmail and not my own server. It was a lot, but I don't remember the exact number though.

only 10,000 a month? I used to get 500 to 700 a day, in the pre-auto-spam-filtering days. With running a very aggresive spamfilter at my ISP I only get a couple a day now :-)

I used to get absolutely none, but now about 5 a week make their way into my Gmail spambox. They're all the same kind too. None make it from there to Mail.app because of my junkmail rules.
More humerously, however, is my original spymac account, which has many thousands of junk messages. I haven't checked it in over a year. Ironically, I didn't once give out that email. Woo spymac?
