I'd go for the second: function & enhanced skins (like the rounded Phoenix address bar) over pure, 100% true skinng / gui-emulation. I love my mouse's right click!
Have fun,

second love the look but dont want to lose pc functions if I did I would get a mac not make a pc act like one
OSX has right click. Why does no one remember that?
I went for the first one. Aqua is perfect,
name something that windows is better at?
Thats not really the point Contra:
supposing windows could do something magical that osX can't, would you want that feature in the program or not?
I say yes... make the program as good as possible, not be hindered by Apple.
Remember we're after the style, not pretending to be apple
aren't we?
If we're trying to make identical copies of Apple software they have every right to complain and send nasty letters.
fissy
There are loads of programs that's goal is to be "the most useful/featured app", but how many programs make their goal to be Aqua emulation? Just the apps here. We have a purpose, if you dont want that, go to one of the loads of other apps.
Thats not mean to be an insult or anything :shy:

ALERT! Wrong. This is exactly what we are trying to do. We love, well I love Apple, and I want to be as true to Apple as possible. Plus, I think everything Apple does is perfect anyways. I dont know why I'm just crazy about Apple. Apple's aqua interface is what inspired this whole site, not some stupid "COOL" inferface and then Apple's aqua came later. No, no, no. Aqua is what this site is all about.
I say what we are going for is number 1 all the way. True, loyal Apple fan. ![]()
Alert! wrong yourselves.
If we could make a better aqua interface than apple shouldn't we do that.
The title of the site is aqua-soft, not apple-soft
surely...
damn right!
If we didn't do exactly what apple did, it wouldnt be aqua anymore. AQUA is their HIG and design, and thats what we have to follow, thats why this site is called AQUA-soft. Not, "our own HIG"-soft.
I just make it nice as possible, aqua or not. Im not the type of person to use xAbout just to have some window popping up telling me that its a mac.
thats not true Contra... you can have an aqua globe... and a little marble hardly has a user interface. aqua is eye candy and style only.
Even if you get Steve Jobs on here to tell me your opinion I'll still say you're wrong ![]()
Well i'm not going to give you one ;p
well, I like Aqua better than XP Fisher Price.
I ALSO like the OS X UNIX core, its hierarchy, its effects and the way it works better too..
e.g. cmd+i (get info) makes more sense than alt+enter to show a file's properties...
I'm expecting a reply from Fissyb or Contra
exactly, Aqua isnt just a color, its a whole interface, and thats what we're trying to copy.
Taha, I will get my mac, and then we will see who will be all "I have a mac" and crap like that. ![]()

you're getting a mac..?? halallujah! This is shocking news!
Mr. I'm-too-good-for-anything-other-than-Linux is finally giving in??!!
My school has decided to give them to us next year. I thought I had mentioned that before. So wait, people AREN'T upsessed with my life? That cant be right.
Hey, Macs are *nix, so I can still CLI it up, but with TRANSPARENCY (just a distant dream in linux).
iBooks, and our whole school has airports all around for "classwork" (games for me). It makes sense, our PCs are overrun with virii anyway.
Apple completly paid for them. Hurrah to Elppa, I regret calling you crapple.

DUDE!!!
serious?! ![]()
I Know, can you believe some people don't care about my life?! :gasp:
Thats awesome, my school has focking win95 machines.
Voted for..... 2nd option! :!:
Ya, my high school is brand new this year. Every single teacher and person part of the faculty gets their own personal iBook. The entire school is all Macintosh, there is not a room in the school without at least two iMacs. We also have labs with eMacs. The entire school is equipped with a wireless network throughout the campus.
Pretty damn nice, huh?
Too bad the students don't each get their own iBooks. ![]()
Wow. Ay my school some teachers don't even get their own classrooms ![]()
Yeh, theyd be lucky to get pens

They probably want to be able to run .exes (Doesn't matter since Macs use BootCamp now) but want the sleek interface of Macs.
