The Panther Look

Undoubtedly, Apple will change the look of MacOS to justify people spending another $100, but what do you think they should change?

i think that the Jaguar aqua look is the most refined beautiful desktop ever seen on a computer, and i have no idea how it could be made any better.

If you were working in the apple human interface department, what would you change?

#33665

well Ill be damned... An only aqua discussion board, Frankly idk if this is a legitimate section... I mean, like wouldn't this fall under skinning?

Anyway... They might change to some kind of brushed metal theme... knowing Apple it wil be the most goegous thing you ever did see.

Bring back senoir members!!!

well, those who liked the OS9 UI never imagined how good Jaguar would be.

Even those who loved 10.1 never imagined how much better 10.2 would be (some might disagree here..)

So, it can be safely expected that whatever the changes are, they will be great :)

I think they'll have flatter buttons. Everything will be more iFix-ish..

i doublt apple will change hte ui, maybe add a brushed theme since rumours are saying they are adding support for themes "a first????"

WHY ARE ALL MY POSTS DELETED?

I can't even write anything without coming back 2 mins to see it gone....

Heres my 2 cents:

I agree with timan. I have heard brushed rumors.

#33721

the brushed rumours have been around but i don't think thats what they'll do:

brushed looks best against a jaguar white interface... i find if you put brushed apps against a brushed visual style the whole thing becomes generic and boring (imo)

Dav: i think your posts were just deleted to keep the thread clean - not as some hate Dav campaign. If you're pissed off about it get in touch with Timan like he said and don't post about it here (as they'll just get deleted)

COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU HERE. COULDN'T AGREE WITH YOU MORE. ;)

I also, highly doubt this is what they'll do. I dont think anyone can imagine or dream up what they'll do. Its not something any one person can just dream up in their head. It is going to be amazing, a callaboration of all the design engineers that work for Apple.

#33841

well i think that apple would do that. If you get bored wih the brushed look you'll just be able to switch back to the aqua look

(apple manitpulated me into thinking i had a choice but i am pretty sure everyone who will get jaguar will eventually go back to aqua (whethers theres brushed or not(since there are rumors of theme capability)))

I'm not an employee for apple, but I'm sure that whatever it is they do will somehow make it sportier. Maybe they'll make it so you can change colors. Have orange aqua for a change, or green, or red, or yellow, or black. That's what I want, a gothic g4!!!

#33860

Considering panthers are black, wouldn't it be something along that line. Maybe glossy black, stripes, or whatever. Just a thought.

#34232

A black theme would not appeal to the average consumer's eye. They want something a little more cheery.

#34244

Some consumers don't want red, yellow, and green "gumdrops" for buttons, and pretty little stripes, and yet they don't have a whole lot of choice. I think apple would meet the demands of even more consumers if they had more colors in general. Apple would sell more computers if they met the demands of more consumers, so for Apple it would be a smart move. These are just one man's thoughts, though.

WOW, that is good beric ! I could live with that :rule:

#34401

Why would the box be black again? Every single box is white.

#34403

Perhaps, the box would be black because a panther is black. I like the new style, but I would still want it to change colors. Maybe I should make my own black glossy style for StyleXP. I kinda like my SSStudio, though. A black glossy interface would be sweet. :woot: I'm not saying that I would want a black iMac, although one of the nifty little De11s with a flatscreen would be nice. I wonder if I could fit a miniITX board inside one of the apple cubes. I ramble too much. If I knew how to work with plexiglass and fiberglass, I could probably make my own case. I'm thinking something nice and slim, shiny, and with a little apple in the middle that would glow when turned on. The only problem with a slim case would be that I can't do much in the way of expansion cards. That means forfeiting my SB live, my MaxiGamer, and the wifi card. I'm sure the wifi card could go, but I kinda have an ear fetish, so the sound card would have to stay, and probably the maxi gamer too. The best I could probably do would be a cube. I saw some nice little black cube miniITX cases somewhere, with little slits for the cdrom drive. I think the cases were metal, though. a little glowing apple would probably not work well with metal, and the glossy factor would be right down the tubes. I should stop now... stop.. STOP!!! okay, done.

hmm...

I doent think that the new osx will be black, just look at jaguar, the ui in jaguar wasnt orange and black!! it was white and blue!! I think/hope that they will keep the old aqua look, maby change it a litle bit!!

Cool buttons! Anyone knows how can i edit the SSgloss to put them? :boob_shake:

#34437

Well, I think I might do it. I downloaded StyleBuilder from TGTSoft, and with a lot of photoshopping and time I might be able to come out with my ideal (black) theme. It will probably go along the same principles of Kol's iTunes with respect to the flat buttons, but it will be black. I don't know yet if I want black/silver buttons or white ones. I think black and white might be a little too high contrast. I should make my website, first. I've got a server, a 40.0 gig drive to put it on, a working photo gallery, and a working blog, but it's all kinda bits and pieces.
