Problem with external hard drive

So, as the title suggests, I'm having some very strange problem with my Maxtor One Touch 2 external hard drive. Whenever I turn on/off any electrical devices within my room (light, fan, speakers...) the hard drive got disconnected from my PC and automatically reconnects within 2 seconds (I got the disconnect and the connect sound, as well as the avedesk desklet linking to the HD fades out and pops up)

I tried plugging the hard drive to other computers but couldn't reproduce the same thing. So i thought it might be my USB port's problem, I then tried with my iPod, nothing happened either :confused: everthing worked fine. Anybody got any idea how to fix it?

The only thing I can think of would be an electrical problem of some sort... try getting a Uninterruptable Power Supply and plugging your computer and drive into it.
