Widgets for linux?

Are there any widget apps for linux (gnome)? I know about karamba, but it's not good. I'm running ubuntu.

Well, Ive actually heard on Digg, that in KDE4, apple is giving them permissiong touse dashboard widgets as the main widget app. Not sure it will have Dashboard per se, but its damn close.

I think the only ones are superkaramba and karamba... The next major release of gnome is supposed to support custom widgets. Maybe someone has some other options, sorry.

To add on to the thing for KDE4, from what I've heard, there's supposed to be like a ~90% compatability rate for dashboard's widgets, with the only stuff not running is Applescript, and such.

KDE4 is going to be amazing, I think it'll finally be a complete linux desktop solution. Anywho, I've always wanted to give Gdesklets a try, but I couldnt get it running on Suse (was running gnome of course)

on ubuntu:

sudo apt-get install gdesklets

They work flawless and are very nice looking.
