Quicktime And Yz

I find that when I'm running quicktime the dock flickers really bad. However this is only the case if Quicktime is not seen on the screen (eg internet explorer on top of it). When I have Quicktime on top the flicker stops. I know that someone mentioned somthing like this before but they said that yz shadow had an effect (which I am not running).

Anyone else notice this?

I have what may be a similar problem.

I have an ATI all-in-wonder video card. It comes with a program called ATI multimdia center that plays DVD, TV, and other video and audio formats. When I run it, the dock and the video playback flicker.

I have an ATi Radeon 7000 graphics card. I didn't install the pack but it came on the cd that I got with the card. Do you think it is an ati thing?

no, i have asus graphics card and it's the same when i run quicktime.

This is something about quicktime, not the dock itself. The only thing that you can do is close the dock while using this apps. <_

I have an nVidia chipset and don't see any flicker with QT. I do see the dock flicker when I start up the MMC app for my ATI TV Wonder VE, but once it starts playing, the flickering stops.

I have an NVIDIA board and I do get flickering but in YzShadow rather than YzDock.

Not only does my dock flicker, but yz shadow and anything else that has transparency. I immagine it must be a bug in the windows transparancy dll. It flickers with quicktime, java, and if I remember correctly Open GL.

Yeah...I should have been more clear. When using the dock or Yz Shadow whenever I start u the ATI TV app, all my apps with transparency (Stickies, DUmeter, Rainlender) flicker until the app starts running...then the flicker stops...it's not pretty, and I've learned to live with it for the small apps. When it really gets out of control is if you try to use iBlend with large windows flickering like crazy :(

I have a Intel ® 82845G Video Card I had Quicktime up when I put Microsoft Word On TopThe Dock And The Animated Char. were flickering...

It's because videos use surface overlay to render in XP or below and transparency has an overlay surface. There are a few kinds and some conflict.
