Windowblinds is the way to go, per pixel transparent borders, built in shadows, and on top of all, the possibility to use...my themes :P
oh and i think it's time for me to admit, I first bought StyleXP back in 2002 (or 03) when it first came out, it isn't that great, Windowblinds is much much nicer 
Great, I will buy WindowBlinds. With windowBlinds, is it possible to only skin the windows and not the taskbar?

you can specify a theme for and application, and specify a global taskbar theme yes
