Lighten Scaned Images

I took some pics last day of school... And they came out a little dark... In something like photoshop, or anything (I'm desperate), after the pics are scanned how can I lighten them up?

Image>Adjust>Levels, then alter a bit with the three levels...

Or if your lazy Image>Adjust>Autolevels

Cheers!

I hate talking behind backs, especially this time.. My sister did a sucky job scanning the pics... they look blotchy and have messed up pixels in them, and I know she'll just throw a fit if i tell her to do it again.. so, with my FIRST damn paycheck Im buying a scanner....

@aqua-girl, those instructions helped quite a bit the they don't even look recognisable... It looks like she saved them as Jpeg in MS paint.
