Offline shortcut to network resources

I want to know is it possible to create something like "shortcut" to network resources like shared disks, servers etc.

Yes, i know i can drag-n-drop connected disk from finder to desktop but it looks like shortcut, with little arrow and after double-click it i get 2 item on desktop: shortcut itself + connected disk. I'd like to place on desktop this net-disk in offline mode (with propper icon ofcourse ) and after double click - get connected disk with icon changed to on-line mode...

Ok... maybe i have to explain some more? =)

If you check CandyBar - there are some icons for "offline network disk" but I never see it "in action"... How can i get "offline net disk"?

If I connect something (cmd+K) and unplug network cable - all i get is some message boxes ask me to disconnect it. Thats all. No offline disk.

Is it possible to take this "offline"?
