Wondering why my thread was deleted?

Did I do something wrong? Please inform me.

Well, you would know if you had read the rules, on top of that, this is more than likely going to stir up the mods as well.

PM a mod or administrator and ask. Having really gotten down to examining the threads that Unbe deletes and moves, I find I was pretty hasty in my disrepect of him - He seems to get it right 9 out of 10 times - ESPECIALLY in your case.

My opinion? You didn't post in the proper forum for starters. Your commentary was confrontational and ill-considered. Learning how to mod a Windows desktop for example, is a relatively slow process for the newcomer (I'll avoid "****"). All of us have spent hours over a long period of time pouring over a variety of threads to learn about modding tools, skins, themes and the like.

Its time very well spent. I can make my desktop look like just about anything I like. I know exactly what Avedesk, Konfabulator and DesktopX will do and what they won't do with regards to my personal tastes. I made an informed choice to purchase Stardock apps when I found Visual Styles too limiited but realized that Bricopaks are often better choices than icon packages. But not *always* better.

I'm not trying to brag - there are people here who are tons sharper than I. In an earlier post I sort of blasted Ave's AveTunes based on my experiences with Avedesk 1.2 and neglected to give 1.3 a proper shot. The result? I found that AveTunes ROCKS and takes up a hell of a lot less CPU and RAM than say, Konfab iTunes controllers and controls iTunes in exactly the manner I want. After praising DesktopX I've come to find its not all its cracked up to be.

I write all this not only to encourage you in your interests, but to warn you that posts like yours are just flat out disrepectful to those of us who have done the research, for which Aqua-Soft is oneof the best resources going in-and-of itself.

And Unbe would be well within in rights to delete this thread because technically, I'm probably "playing" at being a Mod.

Hi and welcome to A-S.

What thread are you referring to? If you're talking about the one showcasing your desktop, you should realize that we already have a screenshot thread.

Also, instead of posting this here, it probably would have been better to PM the mod that closed your thread. This thread will probably be closed soon (considered as publicly disputing a moderator's decision - see rules)

Please take the time to read the rules if you haven't already :)

Because you were warned once to post in proper sub-forum and you chose to ignore that warning.

Because you choose to ignore the rules.

Next time you will be suspended.

EDIT: I suspect he's wondering about his "What config should i get" thread that i deleted from General Discussion. I cannot emphasise enough how many times i tried to explain to people what GD is and what ISN'T for.

Your thread was supposed to be in General Hardware and one of the reasons i deleted it instead of moving it because of your attitude.

I've said this numerous times to numerous people who got off to a wrong start with me - follow the rules and you won't ever see me again.

Please read the Aqua-Soft Forums rules here

Moderators and Administrators follow these rules very strict.

Yeh, unbeliever, I was talking about the what rig to get thread. I don't have a problem with you closeing/deleting threads, because it's non of my business.

I was just curious as to what I did wrong. I thought it was a good thread, I was just looking for advice from some knowledgable members.

Sorry if my attitude comes off wrong. Not trying to step on any toes. After all it is a forum.

Besides it's actually a welcomed change, the mods actually do their job, which is more than I can say for about 99% of the other forums I've visited.

And as you can see there's a thin line between devotion and insanity :P

Thanks for understanding :)

EDIT: Check General Hardware sub-forum, you might find something there ;)

If you have a complaint about a mod, you ask an admin. Posting about it in the forum will get you no where.
