I have to design a CD stand or a stand for knifes, i made it on paper but i have to make it 3D, could anyone sugest some simpe 3D software?

I use Autodesk Autocad 2006 and Autodesk 3D Studio Max 7, mostly for 3D renderings of buildings (I'm an architecture student). But these are pretty heavy programs.

Blender can actually do quite a lot It's just very different from the other 3d programs. It is most definitely the best free 3d program
