[Release] Imail Mod By Pack (finally)
ok every time i click on install it goes to c promt and does its installing thing but when its finished i get "files that are required for windows to run properly have been replaced by unrecognized versions. to maintain system stability windows must restore the original versions of these files. Insert your windows xp home edition service pack 1 cd now."
and out look goes back to being normal no mater what i do.

it's for xp pro. not home. but if you clicked yes on the windows file protection popup and inserted your cd. Then it just replacing the files with stock ones again.
I have a small problem. I insatlled your prog. (it's really nice) but when I open my email, I get a blank screen. It states how many messeges I have and recieves mail still, but I get a blank screen and I cannot restore my cpc to an earlier date. Email is crucial for me HELP!!!!

With which versions of WindowsXP is this compatible ?:
1. WindowsXP Pro (pre-SP1 or non-SP1)
2. WindowsXP Pro with SP1
3. WindowsXP Pro with SP2
Do you have a recommendation to backup any files (which ones) before installing the program ?

Ok I think I have a solution for you. What you may have done is dragged the file menu down below the toolbar that is a bug with oe. it makes a blank window. To fix it press alt and f on keyboard this will bring up file menu. then click manage identies. Create a new one. it will reset the window. and fix the problem.
if that doesn't work goto your outlook express folder
you will see files with the following names _filename_.dll or exe
those are your old files backedup. just delete the other files and replace them with those. Alternatively you will find seconed backups for the files in c:/windows/systempakfiles/i386_bak
These are just outlook sp1 dll files with changed graphics. You are the only person to have this problem
and no doing a system restore wouldn't fix it because the files have been over written in dllcache.
I might as well post a disclamer now. I basically made this for myself. That being said.
This has worked for everyone I've seen with no errors but worm. So apply this mod at your own risk. I'm not responsible if you don't have the right configuration and it doesn't work for you. 
AS HAS BEEN STATED NUMBEROUS TIMES THESE ARE ONLY FOR XP PRO SP1.
although they may work on xp pro or home sp1 or not. That's what my machine was when I made these so that's all I can offer confidence for.
oh yah and also make sure you had already installed the latest updated version of oe before you tried this mod as that's the files I used to mod. So there might be a conflict if you triy installing this on older oe file base

I'm running SuXP Home with no problems at all. I just clicked the installer and KABOOSH!!, there's my beautiful outlook express. 
I run XP Home, heres what happens.
I run the cmd, OE looks great, I say cancel to the thing of replaced by non-mssoft files. Anyway, ends up in a couple minutes XP replaces it back to normal, and replaces the downloaded version! Then I'm stuck, but when it works it is great

I got this program, but how do I get rid of it? I put the folder on my desktop, but I cannot move it now because windows tells me it is being used. How do I go about it?

Once again man, you have really out did yourself on the fantastic OE mod...I am running WinXP SP1 Home...with the latest editon of OE + the latest OE Hotfix from Windows update...
Your installer is a work of true convience, and it runs beautifully on my system with absolutely no issues at all...In fact, I was never a huge fan of OE, just because the GUI was so ugly...but right now because of your elegant mod, I'm building up my iMail address book!!!

what do you want to do exactly? it is changed in iMail mod
I want to change the Outlook Express folder at the left side of Outlook express. I have the Dutch version of OE so I have to rename it myself
you can't fix it
Once again this is for xp sp1 only
win2k doesn't support the alpha transparency layer I added.
