Windows File Protection Alert

Hello and Good Morning!

I've installed Flyakite v3.0 and I must say I love it, but I'm having a little problem. I've found some information but not the same what is happening to me, so I've decided to post, anyway, sorry if it was solved in other post, I'll be pleased you tell me where it is.

Since I installed this Pack, I get at every login in my session (I'm an administrator of my XP SP2) an alert saying something like this: "Windows File Protection must replace some files that have been replaced by unrecognized versions, please insert the CD", well, I first clicked No, but it still continued appearing. In a next boot, I decided to click Yes, and insert my CD, but it is still appearing. I do not know what to do.

I installed this pack having no other bricopacks in my computer, I've made some sfc /purgecache, and the last I tried was disabling from registry WFP (SFCDisable), but it didn't work, and the alert is still there, it only disappears uninstalling FlyakiteOSX completely, but I want to have it in my comp... does anybody know how I can solve this issue???

PS: I've found some info related about modifying sfc_os.dll, too, to have WFP disabled, but I don't consider myself an expert to modify that file, following the instructions I've found in a lot of places, I still don't feel comfortable when I open Hexedit and see all that numbers (even if the directions I've got are not so clear for me, what's and offset??, English is not my mother tongue).

Well, hope some answer, thanks in advance.

Did you read the "read me" file from Flyakite?

Hello;

What do you mean? I read "Read me first!" before installing, of course, but what? Everything was alright there... no reference to Windows File Protection or I do not detect it. My Windows XP works properly, the only one thing I find wrong is the alert appearing each boot.

Run the uninstaller and uninstall comctl32.dll That worked for me.

It works!!!! Thanks a lot. I saw in System Event Viewer "The assembly x86_Microsoft.Windows.Common-Controls_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0.2600.2180_x-ww_a84f1ff9 has missing or invalid files; recovery of this assembly failed."........... but couldn't imagine that resolution...

Thanks again.
