i'm sure everyone has heard/used the avetunes or systats variants of itunes album art display and controls desklets.
judge's original version showed only albumart/title here:

(few other variants exist)
andreas also came out with one which showed albumart from both itunes/winamp here:

but no controls
the prob for is 2-fold:
1) with the avetunes and systats itunes desklet (with time/controls) there is an annoying 'are u sure u wanna quite, other apps using itunes scripting etc etc..' popup everytime you quit itunes...
2) there is no winamp version of 'avetunes' (if so, not as popular, didnt do a proper search)
but, by combining above knowledge along with the 'media player' plugin by judge here:

we can use the global play-pause-next-prev etc. features of this plugin to control any player
by combining the features of above mentioned desklets, someone can hopefully develop a plugin that can both display albumart, and use controls, for both winamp and itunes, as well as scroll wheel for volume (this feature only exists on 'media player' plugin AFAIK) as well as get rid of that annoying 'scripting' popup when closing itunes, as it only seems to appear when desklets which control itunes-only buttons are used.
the only problem i can see is that the 'scripting' popup problem may still appear due to time info acquisition...personally, i can do without this
i hope my above post has been clear and worthy of possible developmet
i thought this would be good as then there would be a generic desklet for either player with all features
