Firefox 1.5.0.1 has been released, you should be able to get it if you Check For Updates, in Firefox. Or you can get it here: http://www.mozilla.com/products/download.h...=win〈=en-GB

Mine uses 44-47mb RAM , agreed it is a bit of resource hog, but this new version 1.501 apparently fixes some memory leaks so give it another try. 
I would really like to know (before I install it, that is) if the new version for MS is minimized correctly by RKLauncher...
Got 6 tabs open and Firefox is eating 48MB mem..... hmmm....
well try comparing that to 6 open instances of M$IE !!!! 
Once you start browsing a couple tabs open, it goes back up to 80mb, ver 1.0.7 did the same in about 50mb, plus im still using the same extensions and theme. Memory leak fix my arse.

It's being fixed. One of the leaks is fixed in 1.5.0.1. In addition, there's a memory leak detector tool available for the 2.0 nightly builds: download one of those, grab the leak detector, and report whatever leaks you find.
Complaining about it will not solve the problem.
i see no difference... my FF 1.5.0.1 uses 50mb of memory, same as FF 1.5:slant:
I gotta admit, I spoke too soon...... Just for the kicks I tried opening 6 IE windows with the same URLs opened in 6 tabs in FF. While FF 1.5.0.1 (6 open tabs) was feasting on 49 MB of my RAM, IE (6 windows) was sitting on 26 MB of RAM chunk. *Sigh*
Although it doesn't mean that IE is better, but FF certainly can do something about Memory Usage !!
That said, If someone had downloaded the new IE 7 beta 2... should try the same thing with IE tabs.. wonder how that works?

Two memory leaks were fixed in 1.5.0.1. All the memory leaks aren't fixed; extensions that leak memory aren't guaranteed to be fixed by a new version of FF; and FF will cache pages in memory for fast back-forward browsing. Disable the caching and do the regular memory tweaking and you'll be fine: I get around 30MB of memory usage regardless of how many tabs I have open.
Also, keep in mind that there's a difference between how much memory you would like Firefox to use, and a memory leak.
