This really is nice man! but I wonder if anyone has the free version or knows where to get the free version of kkmenu....JiriKrivanek who created it has had his website taken down & it can't be registered. All I have been able to find is the shareware version which has to be registered. Kind of a catch 22.

ok im confused i google kkmenu no luck with any site, is it free, i grabed it off Nightcrawlers site and i tried to run it it gives me an ini error also does it work with RKLauncher?
You need to run it properly...follow the instructions it gives when you try running it incorrectly. You have to pass the right parameters to it.

First you'll need to create a menu using the menu editor that comes with the program. An html tutorial is available with the program as well. Once you create a menu it is saved in the MENU folder in the KkMenu app folder with the extension "ini". (there should be sample menus n there that you can edit if you'd like.
NEXT:
Place the VistaGlass.ini & VistaGlass.png within the SKINS folder.
NEXT:
Create a short cut to KkMenu.exe either in AveDesk or whatever dock app you're using. In the "Parameters" (AveDesk) or "Arguments" (Objectdock, Yz doc, RK Launcher...) Type MenuName.ini SkinName.ini in the field. (ei. GraphicsMenu.ini VistaGlass.ini) Note: there is a space between both .ini names.

(1) Creating a shortcut in AveDesk
Using AveDesk v1.3 atm. So how is it done? Been trying and can't seem to figure it out.
(2) Running KKMenu.exe via a shortcut from the XP Desktop
Read on the web that you can place the parameters you specified above by setting it from a shortcut created on the XP Desktop. Thing is, I don't have a GraphicsMenu.ini. I take it this is the name you assigned to menu you created in step 1 of your walkthrough. If my assumption was right, I still can't get it to work despite setting to parameters to point to the menu I created. I can only assume that the problem lies in the Menu I created. Mind you I just created a blank menu without placing any arguments in the text/ini file and merely gave it a name.
As you can tell, I am an "old hand" at this stuff.

P/S Pointing me in the direction of a click and install proggy to get that same effect ala the nifty screen you posted would be awesome. (Which I doubt exists) I can almost hear you mutter -> Bloody XP users. Thanks again.

Okay I seem to be getting a lot of emails on this. Sadly KkMenu is an old program and any further development on this neat lil' app ceased a loooong time ago. Hopefully it will continue to function though I've noticed a little wonkiness at times using it through AveDesk.
In answer to your questions:
1) To create a shortcut in AveDesk you need the ShortCut desklet. (PM me if do not have this) Right click on any desklet and choose Control Panel at the end of the fly out menu. Then click the Desklet tab, choose short, click add desklet. Should look like a "?" right click on the shortcut to Desklet Properties and configure it as I've described in the tutorial.
2) GraphicsMenu.ini is just what I named my menu. The entire key to KkMenu is to learn how to create menus. The Menu Editor is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Read the tutorial. To help I've attached a zip containing my GraphicsMenu.ini & a GlassOSMenu.ini I created. Arguments aren't placed in the .ini You create the menu using Menu Editor and save it in the MENU folder, the file that is created is an "ini" file. You then point your shortcut to KkMenu.exe and set your arguments/perimeters to "Menu".ini VistaGlass.ini
Finally there is no easy "Do it for me" program for KkMenu. Just spend a little time to figure out the Menu Editor. You'll get it, start by looking at the way I created mine and read the tutorial.

it has some bugs but it still works and works pretty good
it has a few problems with the latest nightly of kkmenu(111) though

Finally managed to get it working. My mistake was placing the Menu.inis in the Skins folders. Even if I did place them in the right spot, don't think I could have worked this one out on my own. Of course being the champion that you are, you had the foresight of enclosing your .inis in your post. Some minor tweakage and voila...my desktop is beautified. Oh and btw, no problems of it working with AveDesk ... so far.
Anyhows, thanks a bunch once again. Now I have the nifty glass menu effect. Woohoo!!!
