do you think that in a months time or somewhere in the near future that apple will increase the capacity of the nano? The reason why i ask this is because they did this with the mini. If i am not mistaken it was 1GB, 2, 4 and 6? maybe they will do the same with the nano, 4GB, 6 then 8? 10?

Thats if you wanna void your warranty...and spend $$$ on another 4gb chip....best to wait for official Apple release I'd say which i suspect will be in a few months, with improved battery life (and official video upgrade?).

that is an idea, though i am not sure what the point of watching a video on a tiny screen like that.
Someday the Nano will have more Gigs, the Video ipod will have a huge screen .........

certainly they could opt for a larger flash memory chip, but i am guessing 4 gig is the current sweet spot to maximize profit.

some day the iPod (its not called the 'Video ipod') will have a wide-touch-screen the full size of the current iPod.....yer right maybe if were lucky!
its best not to second guess what apple are going to do as most get rather disappointed....take the mac min for instance....people wanted an intel version of it and they went and slashed it....people wanted 10gig mini ipods and they slashed that as well!.....need i say more? (though this is not really proof of any correlation)

What i tray to say is that apple is ALLWAYS going to release a better product (thats why we loved:) ) So if you had the money just buyt now and your life will be better
It would be nice to have the option of a larger Nano but i find it so hard to predict what Apple is planning these days. I think they would be better served inscreasing the battery life than increasing capacity, a lot of people wanting more capacity would be better served just going for a 5th gen ipod instead.
Once you go full sized ipod you never go back... at least that is the case for me. I haven't filled my 30gb ipod yet but I'm close. Even 8gb would still be less than a third of what I need to store all my music plus a couple of videos and with a bit of room to spare for random files.
The battery life sucks, tho I use mine alot... so I wouldnt be a good person to ask about that. Doubling it would be NIIIIIIIICE.
Well the only thing that kept me away from buying an ipod is the battery life.. my cheapo 1gig mp3 player thats about the size of a shuffle with a small lcd screen works good enough for me. cost less too. though doesn't look as nice.

you say tht but then people watch video's on a psp people watch videos on a smart phone. people watch videos on a pda.. to me they are all small screens.. those portable dvd players have small screens as well(i sure cant watch a movie on a 7inch screen).. so i don't think there really is a point to being able to watch video on an ipod other then the fact that you have the option to watch video on an ipod. and to have another tool that will rot your brain and damage your eye sight.
plus its also a good way to shut your kids up by making them stare at a screen with moving pictures.
but back to the topic. im sure apple will release a larger nano as long as apple keeps making ipods with cheap batteries people will buy them. by the end of the year im sure there will be like 3 more different versions of the ipod. I wouldn't be surprised if apple decided to make a cell phone ipod.
