Is it possible to have the actual message window show in the taskbar, like regular AIM?

The message window does show in the taskbar, at least normally. What plugins are you using?

Err, IEView, clist_modern, tabSRMM, StartupStatus...

It does show it the taskbar when I click the user's name from the tabSRMM, I just want it to popup automatically when a message is sent to me without the message window open.

Seeing as you use tabSRMM

Options-> message session-> message window-> "tabs and layout' tab-> look at the 'message tab and window creation' options.

Play around with these settings a bit sending yourself some messages.
