Yep. same old story. People spend time and effort to create something new for the community and some idiot thinks they are being funny and ruins it for everybody.
It's a shame about the bad experiences, I think a Desktop thumbnail gallery would be pretty cool. Anyone agree?
Agreed, I usually dont post my dektop on the thread, but with a thumbnail page... It will give me some inspiration 
hmm this thread almost seems like more of an attempt to show off your image in the osx-e gallery.
just post it in the screenshot thread-- that is our gallery.
yea i did that, but it goes on for like 35 pages,
it's not really practicle, nobody wants to sit there looking throught page after page.(i know i didn't read every single page)
This is a long shot, but maybe in User CP there could be a place to put your current screenshot, and have a thumbnail of it appear on mouseover of your Username in the forums..

I still miss the shoutbox, but then a couple mofos ruined that for us all too.

Yeah what Unbe said. It just promotes the "look what I have that you don't" culture from people who have nothing better to do than move things around their desktop instead of creating something useful for the community.

It's actualy a good way to get information on how to improve ur desktop, and gives developers a chance to see there programs in work!!.
Sure i can just go over to osx-e and post my screenshot, but this site seems to be alot more active.

I'm sure it is but we have a Monthly Desktop thread already that does the same thing. Also with developers, i'm sure they know what their work looks like when working even on other peoples computers.

Don't see the point myself--I think we've got everything we need (and too much, possibly?) in the Screenshots Thread. Wouldn't the gallery have to be moderated as well?

yeh... Although I sounds like great idea at first instance... it DOES attracts some no-gooders flooding the site with their screenies (no offence guys).
To me so far this community (Aqua-Soft-ers) have been great place for inspiration... hell I even made few skins... yeah, they were aveTunes skins, which anyone can make. But the point is, it made me feel and create something for community rather than just show-off how good my desktop looks with all the aqua/aero stuff cramped on it.
I guess, the current screenshots thread is just good enf for us. It not only let us post our desktops but also discuss it with others and people who are interested to talk to posters and improve their own setup. So I think the purpose is achieved and everyone's happy. As for the thing that "I-Don't-Read-Every-Page", that's an individuals lookout. I do take sometime to checkout everyone's desktop in thread and see what I'm missing. If you don't ready to spare that much time, that's your business.
Fair points have been made, I 'll admit I'm swayed by igo's post. I guess if it ain't broke, don't fix it should be the moral for this thread
Ok, I guess u guys know what ur talking about, i'm new here so i will learn aqua-soft's ways as i go along!!
If you really feel its that necessary set up a DeviantArt account and post all your screens etc there - then link it in your signature.. that way your 'tops' will be easily available to anyone who wants to check them out....
