Local Area Network Shortcut

Hi,

I'm one of those strange people who like to open their LAN connection to the internet manually. I had a shortcut to the "Local Area Network " connection on my desktop but it will not work from within YZ Dock. Anyone know how I can get this working?

Thanks,

Ken

You may try to create a shortcut to the shortcut (it's odd but sometimes it work)

Thanks for your reply.

For some reason the shortcut that I created won't go into the dock. I think it's because it's not linking to an app, but rather in the target box it just has a bunch of letters and numbers, like this:

{RANDOMLETTERSANDNUMBERS}

The shortcut is supposed to enable my Local Area Network connection from within my "network connections" folder. If I drag the connection to the dock I get no icon and when I click it, I get an error saying "windows cannot find {RANDOMLETTERSANDNUMBERS}".

I figured out how to get the folder in your dock you have to be able to have the control panel display in My computer I use Xteq Systems X-Setup Here to display it....go into control panel and drag the network connections folder to the dock and it will bring up the folder

Thanks,

I was able to do that too but for some reason that's as far as I can get. If I try dragging the "Local Area Network" icon into the Dock, I gett an error when I try to launch it.

maybe someone knows an argument that we can place in the dock to make it work....anyone please

Is there possibly a .vbs script that will enable the LAN connection? This would be able to be linked to from the dock.

Linkto: explorer.exe

Args: ::{208D2C60-3AEA-1069-A2D7-08002B30309D}

That takes you to NetworkPlaces, but I've never been able to get any further than that.
