I'm looking at the link you provided, and it's very impressive. If I was to use OSX, I definetely would try it out. Some other people might like that link though, so nice of you to notify. :)

Having used both I can say that Fire just isn't as nice as Adium. Try both out by all means, but I find Adium to be the best multi-protocol IM client available.

hm, personally, i think it's neither stylish nor ... stylish. Anyway, may be good for others, though.

Confirmed =)

I try it myself and... AdiumX is back online ;)

"Chat with style"

Thanks for answers anyway.

Eh.. it's ugly.

Adium is the way to go. I only use iChat for the occasional failed file transfer in Adium or voice/video chat (When not on Skype)

Fire was great back in the day when there were no other chat programs out for OS X...now that Adium is around, Fire takes a backseat.

iChat > Adium > Proteus > Fire.

Thats how it goes.

iChat? Are you joking?

iChat > Adium > Proteus > Fire.

Thats how it goes.

I totally agree.

While iChat may be a bit heavier and less customizeable, it is rock solid with good file transfers, direct messaging, and a simple, traditional UI. I have transferred gigabyte-sized files through iChat without problems when Adium failed on simple images.

Adium is excellent because it is customizeable and flexible. Not only does it handle MSN without trouble, it also has many nice features, such as transparent avatars, tabbed messaging, and the option to have a bezel contact list. It is extremely light and useful, but until both file transferring and contact list managing are down pat, iChat will dominate the IM world on Mac.

Proteus is also quite excellent and stable, but sadly underdeveloped with too many undesired features (limited contact list flexibility). Proteus is also shareware with a hefty price tag for a messaging client.

While I would love to review Fire, its website is filtered at school and I don't want to ruin my current AIM account with another program (when I turn on Trillian, about 100 contacts from 2 years ago begin appearing in iChat).
