I'm currently using the new version, and must say, it's going to blow all the others out of the water, with networking over net features.

It's all part of the new windowslive.com or live.com release coming 2nd quater this year!
this has been in beta for quite some time now, nothing though compares to adium in my opinion

I'd prefer it if skype would bump up its IM capabilities or adium be ported to winblows

Adium is just Gaim with a brushed metal skin and duck sounds and a Gizmo plugin. Trillian Pro is much better in the multi-client department, Gaim/Adium is only so-so when comparing to single clients.
WLM8 is significantly different from MSN 7.5 in a number of ways.
I had it for a day. Why only a day? Because I hated it so much that I uninstalled it and downloaded 7.5 again.
8.0 is overloaded with an ugly graphical interface, and it eats up so much memory. It also looks way too busy.

Oh except I like offline messages. everything else is pretty much the same. I just can't wait till Miranda supports the MSN8 protocol.
Offline message are already available in the MSN7 protocol, and Miranda supports that

yeah and fast too.. I don't get it why Microsoft makes low quality designs, that use more resources than a single solid good one.
no matter what the M$ designs will be.. i'll stay with apple 
mhm.. need to find a way to backup all my msn emoticons when 8 becomes useable

Are you sure about this? I have never been able to send offline messages with Mirnada even when I enable MSN Messenger 7 Protocol.
How does this work?
edit* And a quick look here says I am right.. possibly this has been added with a nightly MSN release?
