Thx, hmm perhaps I should go whit the black, since I hade a white =) it's abit strange that the headphones aint black, but then again, when you see the white ones you think of iPod.., at least I do. And thats good and "free" ad for Apple when people walk around whit it =) But I still would like some back ones...

I personally don't like black ipods, they do look cool but the scratches (which will be all over your ipod after 2 days) are easily noticed. I don't know whether it's the same with white ipods as i don't have any :(

PS: oh and I love my mini :D best ipod ever :P

Black.

blah, blah, at least 10 characters

I've heard that scratches show up a lot more clear on a black ipod. Personally I think 5G's look better white and Nano's look better black.

One thing - as soon as you get your ipod get a case for it (I have a silicone one) because they get scratched VERY easily. I had my 5G for about a week without a case and it is covered in scratches. also consider getting screen protectors. I should probably get some.

Okay that's my 10 characters.

I personally love the look of the black iPods... when their new. I have a white 5G and my friend has a Black one. We've each had them since Christmas, and have had relatively the same wear on them. We both used only the case Apple includes in the packaging. Mine is like new, spare a few smudges. His has smudges all over, but relatively few scraches.

#348937

I had a White one and hardly noticed the scratches all over it... but now that i Have a black one the one solitary scatch is glarring in comparison.

But is still think the black looks sexy.

I have a white 5G iPod and I'm quite happy with it. The black ones look pretty cool, but I chose white because I just happen to like it better. It's a matter of taste, get the one you like more, or just do the "ini mini manimo" thingie ... :P

yep, my iPod mini never failed me!

I've recently upgraded my white 3g for a black 5g and then tiniest of scratches show up on the black surface. But it's still cool. I find the screen looks better on the black ones because of the added contrast.

What ever you do, when you get your iPod, DO NOT USE THE CASE INCLUDED. It is tacky, will probably break up you hang it off your belt and it scratches your iPod. It's probably wirth the extra $50 to get an iSkin eVo3. It may make your iPod look completley different, but it would be worth it.

Regardles of whether you use teh included case or not, you should get a good case of some description. I had my iPod for like a week after chirstmas with no case. It has scratches all over it, including the screen.

Hmm, ilounge.com for all your reviews on ipod cases/ANYTHING.

I would prefer the black one. That mentioning of contrast is very true. Black just makes it more "movie-ish."

I own the iSkin evo2 (WILD SIDES) and I must say.. IT GETS BORING. Now the evo3 is a lil different and doesn't have a click-wheel protector (WHICH SLIGHTLY DISCOLORED MY WHEEL WITH SHADES OF GREEN), but the material is REALLY good for not sliding. However, because their materials are the same I must warn you that its not as "non-slip" as you'd think. It's just a normal silicone and can slip if you don't hold on to it.

My preference is: get a leather case. It looks cooler and doesn't really ruin the "White/Black" beauty as much. And once you let your iPod breathe from the iSkin/colored silicone cases for a little, you'll never want to put it back on. It's too much beauty.. ;-)

OT: Creative Zen:M I know it's a imitation, but who isn't these days. Anybody liking it? No need for all these conversions for iTunes/iPod and the iTunes organization for mid-2GHZ computers with over 30gigs of music does NOT help, let alone the addition of large movie sizes.

If Creative offered Mac-compatibility and 60gigs, I'd be taken away immediately.

I have a black one, but I sometimes miss the "Apple signature white"

-sigh-

#359871

black looks sleeker (i hate that word but its true)...i hope they make black imacs to match :D

#360004

I say defintely go with the black.

#360147

gaaaaaaaaah it is iPod 5G not iPod video

white is better btw

#360485

I'm thinking of getting a 30GB ipod video in the near future too. I am also not sure about the colour.

Black or white......

I think that the black looks sleek but you would probably notice the scratches more. The white is apples trademark.

What a decision :)

#360516

i have a iMac so i got a white one to match it, my dad has a black nano which looks pretty sweet. i don't think it matters that much since the real iPod video is coming out later march early april, so you will inevitably buy it, but i think white is a little better

#360518

I can't believe so many people like a black nano.

It is wrong.

The black nano just looks like a million other black mp3 gadgets. Like a sony hifi is black,.. a boring nokia phone is black, an ugly IBM thinkpad is black.

Getting a black nano does it injustice,.. it relegates it to the myriad other second rate black electronic gadgets.

No other manufacturer makes (snow) white electronic devices but apple. If you get a nano it must be pure white.

You'll be sorry if you get a black one.

#391664

you will be sorry, you have to take care as to where you put it how you use it and clean it carefully too, otherwise you get microscratches.

i think apple should release like a powerPod so people can get silver 120GB ipods or something

#391700

black looks cool, but gets boring.. when you have a white ipod, you wish you had a cool looking black one, but when you have a black ipod you wish you had a less-scratch revealing white ipod..

all ipods get scratched up... the black one just flaunts it more...

i think cases really ruin the ipod... i bought it not just for the integration and features, but also because its a sexy beast... i have an incase and slip it out to use it.

#391861

Flurry - I gather whta you are saying is by getting a black iPod ois being a sheep. Just blending in with the croud....

no.

Getting an iPod at all is being a sheep. Apple own 80% of the MP3 player market. Your doing no different by getting a white ipod over a black one. I'm not saying you shouldn't be getting an iPod - they are great devices and I love mine.... It's no different whether you get a white or black. I went with white because it's teh tradition... All iPods have been white untill now. (okay okay yes, i do have a green skin for it but thats besides the point :P )

It is ridiculously expensive, you want a Nano your like well $150, which is doable.

Then you go I might aswell get the best there is. so thats $250.

Then i got offered a warranty (all inclusive, even if I lose it) for $50 bucks.

So $300.

Then you buy a i-skin duo siliconce case so thats $320.

Then your like I want something sturdier, so you buy another $20 more.

$340.

Ridiculous.

I'm happy about the warranty in 3 years time I get a free new Ipod whatever it may be.

In terms of cases, the nano gets scratched easily, the best case I have found, (and I've looked at many) is the I-See Countour design case. It basically looks and feels like th nano is set in quartz. It has zero flex. I did cover the ipod in protective film, front and back before I put it. Those 2 things the film and the I-see are the most you can do to protect the ipod.
