Try searching through the very well organized skin studio interface and find the start button image, edit it to your liking, then save. Did you even try before asking? Did you SEARCH!!?? Gosh. Excuse me. Give that a try.
I'm currently using the Windows Media Center Royale theme, and would like to change the text from the start button from "Start" to "Fart", keeping the same font and everything....any way to do this? 
ALSO, I'd like it to make a noise when clicked... 
(Yes I'm dead serious- how would you do this? -What the easisest way? Any registry hacks?- I dont want to go replacing files if I dont have to)
actually i did but i just couldnt find it, and the noise idea is clever but i think that can be done through the sounds
control panel > sounds > windows tab > start navigation
not sure tho as i removed all my defualt wav audio but try that

Yeah tried the sounds - I currently have a Homer Simpson sound theme, which laughs, says "DOH!" (critical error) and "AHHH Boogeyman!" (program error), "excellent" (Mr burns- minimise/maximise/restore) and "To start, press the any key...Well where's the any key?" for startup...
BUT it doesnt have a sound for the start button... You said you did...what do u mean? you have altered the start menu text before?
