How do I change the Azureus icon in my systray? I just can't fint it in Reshacker :/
please help
First off, don't use Azureus, its not a good program. Try Utorrent instead, uses 6mb of ram.
. Try changing the regular icon if anything see if that changes the tray as well. But like I said, Utorrent is way better.
Utorrent sure is a promising program... ![]()
...but when I've changed utorrent's icon with Reshacker, the program won't start :/
hey, just word, on my adventures creating and replacing systray icons i found that the Azureus systray icon could not be changed, well not with Reshack, im not sure if there is another app out there that can do it.![]()
well I've come to the same conclusion ![]()
utorrent is a good program, but azureus is by far the best, even though it uses java.. it has a far larger dht userbase. once they move to the standard bit torrent dht, then utorrent will probably exceed as the better client.
uTorrent's icons (including systray, etc) can be configured simply by dropping a specially named icon file into it's folder. I forget exactly how to do it; check the site.

Thats right, replce the icons in your App data folder for utorrent
Does that work for uTorrent 1.4 as well?
I have only 6 files in App Data
dht.dat
dht.dat.old
resume.dat
resume.dat.old
settings.dat
settings.dat.old
What am I supposed to do?
From the uTorrent FAQ
How can I change the system tray icon / GUI icon for µTorrent?
Put tray.ico (for the tray) and main.ico (for the GUI) in %AppData%uTorrent, or in the same directory as utorrent.exe if you have the settings in the same directory. You must restart µTorrent for this to take effect. There are a selection of icons on the User Interface Design section of the µTorrent forums.
thanks a lot
so, this is a text out of a pm
between vorlon and me
his discription works well, but i tried very long to make an adequate icon...
my opinion is every icon looks really bad.
azureus use .png files and not .ico. i gave up, but maybe there is an other, who can do a better job.
btw azureus is not so bad and with 1gb ram it really doesn't matter
The only way I know of is this:extract the file
C:Program FilesAzureusAzureus2.jarto some place. (rename it from .jar to .zip if needed)
After that, go tho the folder where you extracted those files to, and open the
orggudyazureus2uiiconsfolder.
In this folder, locate the file a16.png (I'm not really sure if this is the file, if I'm wrong, just open the pngs until you find the azureus tray icon). After locating it, replace the image with the one you want (another 16x16 png).
Now, just zip everything back to a file named Azureus2.jar, and replace it in the C:Program FilesAzureus folder (It would be a good idea to backup first).
The major downside is that after each azureus upgrade you'll have to redo all of that again...
Hope this helps.
many thanks =)
