In the immortal (grammatically-corrected) words of Seph:

Hello aqua-softians!

Since I can foresee the spawn of thousands of little threads about the MacWorld, I create/merge this, the official one where you can talk, woot and so on...

*waves flag cheerfully*!!! Intel Stuff possible? Read on ;). The first few posts are speculation...

P.S: Previous Thread Merged. This didn't belong in GD, danny5025. ;).

I am excited only about a few things. Personally, I am not all that excited for the Intel Macs. I just don't know what would be sacrificed to get this to work. But I may end up liking it, I just don't really have high hopes.

Will we see first pics of new features for 10.5? If so, I will be excited about that.

I want iWork '06 to expand to be an updated full version of AppleWorks. That means a replacement for Spreadsheet and Database utilities in AW. I am not dishing out hundreds of dollars for Office. Pages and Keynote are incredible and I want the same quality for the other programs. AppleWorks is not cutting it for me anymore.

I would like to see how they change iLife. Though it is not something that is making me all warm and fuzzy.

We'll see what other surprises they have. They usually have one or two things that come out of nowhere that was on nobody's radar.

Read up on Rosetta. The closest thing Apple is coming to a "sacrifice" is a slight performance hit.

Will we see first pics of new features for 10.5?

Doubtful. Jobs said Leopard's unveiling would come at WWDC 2006 and be out in time to compete with Vista. Unless he's changed his mind, the emphasis on this show will likely be the new Intel Macs, if they're set to appear. I think we'll see a DVR Mac Mini and a Yonah-equipped widescreen iBook.

I would like to see how they change iLife.

iWeb is supposedly a Dreamweaver replacement that's coming with iLife '06.

I doubt we will see 10.5 concidering they are still (or have just finished) developing the new intel version of 10.4! As for 1gig iPod Nano... that would cross over into the iShuffle arena and Apple normally have clear boundaries between products. The iWork and iLife 06 are no brainers and pretty obvious though. Bluetooth remote would be contender for dullest new apple product - but I'm sure someones excited.

This is what Apple is best at - keeping things under its hat. Makes the whole thing a bit more special for us Appleites ;)

I doubt we will see 10.6 concidering they are still (or have just finished) developing the new intel version of 10.5!
10.4 is Tiger; 10.5 is Leopard. I hope they aren't already developing 10.6 ;) .

ah crap Tricky is a bit drunk... aheam you know what I meant *hic

I've edited it so people just think your hallucinating Wizard ;)

#347412

I am hoping for an intel iBook. If it were announced, is there any idea of when it would ship?

#347470

I think its normally about a week to two weeks for new products.

Who made this an "Official" thread? :slant:

#347617

It doesn't matter Aleks. :P

Anyways, what I would love to see is...

iLife '06 with Apples addition; iWeb.

Intel mac minis and iBooks.

A slight update to the iPod shuffle [maybe a little screen?]

Widescreen iBooks with built-in iSights. [id chuck mine out the window if that happens :P]

Apple Airport Extreme with VIDEO support.

A apple digital camera to accompany aperture? :)

Oh boy, I pray for those. I will go bankrupt, homeless, and dirt poor, but oh boy.

iMac G5 iSight is not even 90 days old...

#347885

Typical Apple scenario... release something and then make it obsolete before the ink is dry on the advertisements.

#347886

not only are they 2-3x faster but they have ati x1600 graphics cards and iLife 06, macbooks are sweet

#347887

Yup, have to get work to order on in. 3-4 weeks waiting time it says, so I'd imagine 2 weeks to get it.

#347895
