Thinking of buying a mac

OK. I finally am to the point in my financial savings that I think is reasonable to consider buying a computer of my own, preferrably a mac. I currently have around $400 saved, but I am getting my liscence in March, so a car now comes into the mix, including gas. I am not employed, I am only 15. But I am starting to think where I want to invest. I might buy a Mac Mini, and use my grandparents old monitor, or possibly continue to save for an iBook, which, by the time I get one, would probably be an Intel processor. So I am now asking the community that has come so close to my heart for their opinion.

save your money and buy a car. a computer never got anyone laid...

Bill Gates had children and married because he was so rich from making computers. Get a car.

At your age, you'll want a car more than a computer.

Sure macs are nice and all, but are you willing to spend money you don't have on something you just might not like at all, something that will be updated a few months later (apple is famous for that).

Get a car, then get a computer as a toy down the road. Plus with apple and all the latest rumors who knows you might be able to get both.

Thanks for all the advice, but I forgot one detail. My parents have an '98 Toyota Avalon (I know its a not get-you-laid car, but its still a car) that they are willing to let me drive when I need it. It is in great condition so it won't be a hassle to drive. IE (Damn, I hate that abbreviation *non-sexy wink*) little to no repairs or touch ups.

just save the money and put it into property when you have more saved.

It all depends on if your parents will allow you to use the Toyota full time. If not, get a car. If your tight for cash on property, and they say you can drive it, save it. Then, if not, get a mac mini. Or, if you save up enough money for an iBook by then, you can get it. The iBook costs more, and it may not be the smart decision, because if you get more money by the purchasing of the Mac Mini, you will have extra money to put into the bank or a car.
