Great docklet! Small problem.

Many of the icons that display appear to be clipped. It's kind of a small thing, but correcting it will add to the professional look of an already great docklet.

Excellent update to the docklet (Y)

All works well, but it doesnt update when I first load the dock.

Something to show the direction and speed of the wind would be cool, just a suggestion.

It's already wicked how it is though..

The icon do not appear to be clipped.. they ARE clipped! :shy:

I was trying to get the icons (instead of centered) moved to the upper/left corner at a 128x128 resolution. if someone else can do a better job with the icons or have more weather conditions, i'll be glad to add them to my next release of the the weather docklet.

Alkbeik, could you post a complete list of all of the conditions that weather.com reports (I think you said there were 47 or so). That way a complete set of icons can be worked on.

Hmm really good and many thankx for that !

I just noticed that if I remove all the labels from the docklet ( city name, location ) then properly quit Y'z Dock and restart the application twice ( I don't know why but I have to apply a manual update without enabling label to have that bug confirmed on 2nd restart of Y'z Dock) the Docklet will not be present . I have to add it again.

This is certainly due to the fact there is nothing in this configuration in the header of the itemlist.ini file.

example of itemlist.ini : Versailles, France type.docklet weather\Weather.dll - -

If you remove the label ... it can't start because there is only the type ..

Have someone noticed that ?

yo albeik | i was thinking aloud this for 0.3:

• when the dock starts_make the docklet realize an internet connection is present and so it updates, then it updates every XX minutes (.ini file).

• when you click the manual update the dock freeze for 5-6 secs _

• have the humidity and feels like shows option would be great.

i had an idea for those like me that a simple query does not give any results (like Paris, France).

It would be great if you can implement (in addition to what is existing now in the docklet) a direct url.

See actually when doing some search over weather.com i can get the url composed to give me direct access to the weather i need, the thing would be only compatible with weather.com of course.

Do you think it's possible ?

Or maybe you will come with a better idea :lol:

First, let me just say that this is a wonderful docklet and I would not change much if anything about the way it looks and acts, the only addon I can suggest however, is that included in the popup menu is a section that says 5/7/10 day forecast and once you open that a submenu with a text based forecast for the 5/7/10 days appears.

Thanks for all your comments and suggestion. Officially, I have my TODO list for version 0.3 at home, many of which suggestions/opinions from you guys . I will post it here as soon as I get home (including all the 47 weather conditions)

Here is my official TODO list for Weather Docklet version 0.3:

The (pending) indicates that I am still thinking about whether I will add it to the 0.3 release or not.

INI -> Add browser settings
INI -> Add an option to disable polling for dialup users
INI -> Add constant/specific webpage from weather.com to access
TXT -> Add border around text
TXT -> Add transparency percentage option
LBL -> Add label customization (e.g.: "%tc%dC, %z is %c" = "24°C, 01545 is Fair")
MNU -> Add # (max is 10) of days forcast (pending)
MNU -> Add humidity and "feels like" (pending)
BUG -> fix when label is blank, docklet does not load bug

In regards to the Weather.com's 47 weather conditions, below is what I've got so far. Each weather condition is represented with a text under the GIF image. I was able to find only the ones labeled. For example: '34' means that it is the image I found when looking at the weather data from the "01545" Location. The text corresponding to that image (found at 01545) is "Fair".

I basically, went around the world trying to figure out names for the rest of the conditions. But that's only b/c I wanted to correspond them to the 25 images I have. If someone can replicate the images (NOT COPY) from weather.com by just looking at them, then this will make my life easier.

The ones I know are labeled.

I have a weird bug in my Weather Docklet - Everytime it autoupdates, it gives the N/A icon, and says "Invalid Location" in the Title. If I update manually, it gives the correct condition and location. I've tried both my zip code and my City, State in the .ini file. What's goin' on??? :angry:

By the way, Albeik, I love the docklet. Keep up the good work (and patience for us finicky Yz Dock fans)!!!
