Does anyone know how to keep podcasts out of the "Songs" category on an iPod? I hate listening to music and just running into a podcast.
[help] Keeping Podcasts separate
I just bought an iPod, I'll figure it out when it comes here. you might be able to do it by putting it in a seperate playlist perhaps.
No, I've had an iPod (not the same one) for over a year now. with one update, it "took down the barrier" between podcasts and songs. Songs don't show in the Podcasts category, but not vise-versa
i'd like to know as well...it's very irratating i must say
afair, after update from june (iPod Updater 2005-06-26) in iPod and iTunes libraries songs has been mixed with podcasts, what i find very annoying... until now (iPod Updater 2005-11-17) it hasn't changed the way it was "proper" :/ if it really bothers you, you can always downgrade your firmware
... i'm using 4G ipod, and i admit, that library of my tunes mixed with audiobooks and podcasts is irritating me a lot. i've came with an idea of creating a smart playlist:
Playlist is not Soundtracks
Time is greater than 1:00
Name does not contain skit
Name does not contain intro
Name does not contain outro
Genere is not podcast
i know, that this isn't the ultimate solution, but it helps me a lot, when i'm not in the mood to skip those damn podcasts, short jingles, intros, etc...
greetz!

In iTunes 4.9, the podcasts don't appear in the library. See if it carrys over to the iPod.
