[HELP] Using alternate copy, drag and move cursor for X.Org

I've been looking for a way to customize my cursors for X under GNU/Linux. Currently I've been able to convert some windows .ANI and .CUR files to use them under X by using xcursorgen. Also I've been able to convert the cursor attached to a Xcursor, but it doesn't work. I've renamed the file to "copy", "move" and "drag" (all without quotes and lowercase letters) but X keeps showing me the same standard cursors for those events. Please, if someone knows how to make it work, I will appreciate any useful answer. Thanks in advance.

BTW: I'm in the process of converting all Mac OS X cursors to create an 1:1 version for GNU/Linux. If someone is interested in those files, just PM me.

What window manager are you using, and [linux-****] aren't the cursors dependant on the window manager? Have you tried the KDE/Gnome/whatever settings?[linux-****]

I'm currently using Gnome, I've tried several cursors packs, but I can't find one that allows me to change the behavior for copy, move or drag&drop mouse events. It would be possible only by editing PCF font files?
