Hmm, I've got the same problem but only with icons for HTML/HTM files. I've tried different ways to fix it but with no luck :(.

#343131

Maybe try associating icon files with a different program. See what happens.

#343138

Start Menu-->Run-->Type "control folders" (without the quotes)-->Select the FileTypes tab-->Scroll down to ico-->Select Advanced.

Tell me if there's anything there...

yep, nothing

Weird, that's what I have...however, I had a similar problem in the past with .htm files and Firefox. Even though it's empty, could it hurt to delete it?

*I'm not sure :(*

maybe i should try the repair feature of winxp :slant: ..

has someone used this yet? cuz i dont know how many damage it would do to all the customisations

#343162

if you're using iconpackager, try rebuilding your icon cache ;)

#343222

ok :) i took a while of headache but i fixed the problem, something currupted the registry entry for .ico files..

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT]

|

-> icofile

(Standardvalue) REG_SZ Icon

|

->DefaultIcon REG_WORD %1

and

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT]

|

-> .ico

(Standardvalue) REG_SZ icofile

thats what it should look like (at me the value for icofile was messed up in some gibberish)

however, hope this helps other ppl who might have this problem too
