[help] The Best resolution for windows to look good like a mac?
I prefer 1280x1024.
yea it looks good but most of the stuffs are very tiny
my bad. i dont know its wrong. my screen is 15.0" LCD screen. 1152 x 864 looks really good tho.
I don't have an LCD screen but I think that they will always looks best at their native resolution- unlike CRTs many LCD have trouble scaling to others.
I don't think upping the res to something higher than your actual physical res will do much good (correct me if i'm wrong cause I'm not that informed.
Resolution has NOTHING to do with Aqua emulation :slant:
??? I think it doesnt depend on your resolution...
I have a LCD monitor 17.0" and I use 1280x1024
Yet, I still don't see what it has to do with looking like a mac... oO
it depends on your screen size as others have said. If you're on anything smaller than 17" i would suggest you stick with 1024 x 768. If you have 17" or 19", you should increase the reso to 1280 x 1024 or even 1600 x 1200 (especially for 19") ![]()
1680x1050 ![]()
but as others have said screen size has nothing to do with changeing your desktop to look like a mac
I personally use 1440x900 and loving it ![]()
um as high as possible....whatever your moniter supports...youll never go back as the quality is so much better
15" - 1024x768
17" - 1024x768 (maximum 1152x864) refresh rate>85Hz
19" - 1280x1024 @ 100Hz (if you monitor support)
21" - 1600x1200 @ as high Hz it is better
So do I. I use 1440x900 (Just like a Power Mac....) But it looks good at 1024x768 was well.
15" - 1024x76817" - 1024x768 (maximum 1152x864) refresh rate>85Hz
19" - 1280x1024 @ 100Hz (if you monitor support)
21" - 1600x1200 @ as high Hz it is better
is that for a CRT or a TFT screen. I have a 17" TFT and it runs best on 1280x1024, but i've known that CRTs are better on 1280x960.
Info is for CRT displays.
1600x1280 or something like that.
Anything that has a high resolution and is wide screen.
I'd personally use 2048x1536 if I didn't have a CRT that has a GOD AWFUL flicker at 60hz.
What I really hate about 1600x1200 on my monitor (21") is that everything is so scruntched together.
I think it is an illusion, because when I use 1600x1200 on a 17" everything is tiny.
go for 1440x1080 on a 17" ! super small but, wahtever. ![]()
I have a 19" CRT, rounded glass - i hate the piece of sh*t but I run it @ 1600x1200 usually - but only because I have a lot of crap on my dock.
I use 1280x1024 on my I think it is 17"? But only because it just feels like I have more room and so on..
i have a dell 24inch, it looks great on OS X itself and the os x themes in windows, but wide aspect displays(to me that is) have always made a desktop look better in windows and os x, for me its cause i have much more desktop space.
Widescreen resolutions are the hip thing now! But generally higher resolutions are better, since you can have bigger docks, more widgets on screen and so on without it looking cluttered. Once you get more screen space you'll wonder how you managed without it.
