iMac G5 Wireless?

hi guys. My household recently got a new imacg G5 probebly around januarry of 2005. We recently have wireless access in my house and are unable to bring cables to where the imac is. On apples website it says the 17" 1.9ghz (which we have) has built in airport 802.11g bluetooth etc. Yet when i look at the system profiler there is nothing about an airport card. Not only that when i try to set this up using internet connect. I select the new 802.11g connection configuration, but no airport card. Is there any way i can get this mac to have wireless functions? This is very saddening and misleading reading off of apples site. I dont stay up to date with what apple does to their hardware, so all i can think is we have an old model of the imac G5.

Ur mac is purchased in Januarry so it is the old one, so only the new one got buil-in isight and airport

hmm okay i thought so, i dont understand why the ydid not do this in the first place. very frustrating for customers with this model. Is there some sort of component, USB or somthing i can hook up to the iMac to give it wireless abilities? hopefully this isnt too expensive.

You can bring ur mac to 1 of the apple store to install the airport card which is cost $79 itself and i dont know about the install fee or taxes

Or you can buy 3rd party receiver advices at electronic stores

theres also a few cheaper usb dongles to give you wireless capabilities....not sure how well they work though

I use a D-Link DWL-122 usb key adaptor (not the newer DWLG-122 - not sure about the Mac compatability of that one).

Only 802.11b speeds, but should be cheap if you can find one (about $30?).

Supplied OSX drivers are shaky, but working perfectly using the unofficial v1.4.7 drivers found here: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/15997
